10 When it goes wrong

Uninstalling

Removing one mod, removing everything, and what happens to your save file in each case. None of this is destructive — no game file was ever modified.

Neither plugin writes to your save, and neither modifies a single game file. Uninstalling is deleting files that were only ever added, so there is nothing to repair afterwards.

PartialRemove one mod

Delete the DLL. That is the whole procedure.

Ungodly Bendy EnhancedBepInEx\plugins\UngodlyBendyEnhanced.dllBepInEx\config\stixsworldhd.bendy.ungodlyenhanced.cfg
Ungodly Bendy Community PatchBepInEx\plugins\UngodlyBendyCommunityPatch.dllNothing — it creates no config file

Full removalRemove everything

To get back to a completely stock game, delete these from your game folder:

Delete all of these
<game folder>\
├─ BepInEx\ the whole folder
├─ winhttp.dll
├─ doorstop_config.ini
├─ .doorstop_version
└─ changelog.txt BepInEx's changelog, not the game's

Everything else in that folder belongs to the game. When you are done, the folder should look like it did before you started:

A stock game folder
Bendy and the Ink Machine\
├─ Bendy and the Ink Machine.exe
├─ Bendy and the Ink Machine_Data\
├─ MonoBleedingEdge\
├─ steam_api64.dll
├─ UnityCrashHandler64.exe
└─ UnityPlayer.dll

Or let Steam do it

Right-click the game in Steam → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files. Verification removes files Steam does not recognise, which is all of the above. It is slower than deleting them by hand, but it also confirms the game itself is intact.

SavesWhat happens to your save

Nothing. Save data lives outside the game folder entirely, at:

Save location
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Joey Drew Studios Inc\Bendy and the Ink Machine\

Deleting BepInEx does not touch it. Your progress survives installing the mods, uninstalling them, and reinstalling them.

The backup files the Community Patch leaves behind

If you had the patch installed, your save folder will contain some extra files it created:

FileWhat it isSafe to delete?
batim.gameYour actual save.No
batim.game.bak1Most recent backup, rotated on every successful save.Yes
batim.game.bak2Second-newest backup.Yes
batim.game.bak3Oldest backup in the chain.Yes
batim.game.tmpA write that was interrupted. Should not normally exist.Yes
batim.game.corruptA save that would not deserialise, set aside rather than deleted.Yes, once you are sure you do not need it

They are harmless left in place and the vanilla game ignores them completely. But they are also your only safety net — once the patch is uninstalled, nothing is creating new ones.

If you want to keep the backups working

Uninstall Enhanced and keep the Community Patch. It has no menu, no config file and no visual effect on the game whatsoever — it just quietly stops a list of long-standing bugs from happening to you.

Coming backReinstalling later

Straight back to the BepInEx page. Nothing carries over except the config file, if you kept it.
